Unboxing the FILA Men’s Memory Steelprint Shoes

February 7, 2018 Leave a Comment

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

As of 2/17/18, I’ve been using them for about a week. As the reviews stated, these are indeed narrow. That’s why I picked up a larger size than usual. I rarely buy wide shoes, and I have no problem getting in them. But if you buy wide shoes, that’s something to worry about or at least be prepared to return them or hand them off to friends and family.

These is a flat shoe, more akin to Vans sneakers than the typical FILA exercise shoes, so keep that in mind as well. I’m using them for walking, but one week is far too soon to tell how they will hold up.

Granted, considering the price, I’ll be happy if I get six months out of them 🙂

I am the new blogging Al Bundy 🙂 We have a new shoe unboxing post here. The price was right, I couldn’t resist the temptation, it’s the Fila Men’s Memory Steelprint Athletic Shoes, on sale for $16 with free shipping at the Costco website until February 21 in 2018.

Costco was very efficient in their packaging, they just wrapped a tough wrapper around the show box, affixed the UPS labels on them, and shipped it! If it was Amazon, it would 2-3 boxes, with a dozen airbubbles and a handful of filler paper 🙂

Tearing into the wrapper (a box cutter or something sharp is probably a good idea because it’s a tough cookie) reveals the shoe box:

Opening the box, surprise surprise, reveals the shoes 🙂 They are tied together, with a FILA tag on own of them, but they don’t have a filler item that some shoes have (to help them maintain their “posture” before you buy them)…

THE SHOES, THE SHOES!

And now, the shoe! The Costco reviews (where it average 3 out of 5 based on 15 customer reviews) said these are very narrow, so I got a bigger size to be on the safe side. The ones below are Size 11:

The bottom of the shoes is all white, so keep that in mind if you are planning to walk in places that stain, or if staining bothers you 🙂

And a quick peek inside the shoe:

SHOELACES!

Some people are specific on shoelaces, so here’s a close-up of them. They come pre-installed and ready to go (thankfully!!!)

BAR CODE and STAMP

This is the barcode that shows the name. The one here is the “Navy” (blue) color scheme…

At the bottom of the package we have the standard shoe box stamp (“Box Certificate”) where we get some Chinese geography (Quanzhou in Fujian province).

RETURN LABEL IS INCLUDED

Attached to the shoe box is the pre-printed Costco return label:
